Ada turns 6

I will skip over the "I-can't-believe-how-old-my-girl-is" part of the post and jump straight to the party in honor of just how happy it makes Ada to plan a party.

If it were up to Ada, we would have a party every week, and her birthday party would involve every person she has ever met, a few hundred different things to eat, fantastical decorations, a lifesize princess cake, and presents from all the people. I exaggerate, but only slightly. Ada LOVES to dream up party plans (really just plans in general. She is happiest when she is planning the next big thing. For example, we just shifted from building a city for American Girl Dolls, to buying a hamster, to adopting a baby all for her. I get whiplash trying to keep up with it all. But I love this about her even if it does at times make me slightly insane).

For her 6th birthday, after several changes of mind, a few "thats-not-going-to-happen" statements from me, and much deliberation about the menu, we landed on watching Frozen with 2 friends while eating pink popcorn, pudding parfaits, and pink lemondae.

(I do not recommend pink popcorn. It is basically eating popcorn covered in hard jello. The girls loved it).
The lucky party girls.

Watching Frozen. This has led to Oliver belting out "Let It Go" all the time, which drives Cambel crazy.

After a pizza dinner we had pink lemonade cupcakes (since they were lacking in sugar consumption) and opened gifts.

I don't know what we would do without Ada. We would have less parties...and less creativity and wonder and dreaming and reading and planning. We just wouldn't be us without her.
