Well, once again I am a bit behind in blogging. (And I have at least one faithful reader who is concerned about this. This one is for you Linda).
We'll begin before Thanksgiving.
Cambel's teacher sent home a homework sheet with picture of a cornucopia and directions to make a list with your child of all the things they and you are thankful for. Seizing this teachable moment, I dutifully sat with Cambel as we listed things that I was thankful for, and then what he was thankful for. Next, Cambel was to color his cornucopia as he felt led (and given Cambel's lack of affinity for coloring, he is usually led to use just one color and finish as quickly as possible). Finally we were to find or draw a picture of one special thing from his list of thanks. I pulled out pictures of our family and thought he may choose one of these. But he seemed intent on finding a picture of just himself. I was a bit confused until he explained while using a sweeping motion around his head that he just wanted "a big picture of his face" because he was thankful for himself. Never mind family, friends, shelter, food...just a picture of his face.
A real cornucopia of thanks indeed.

Thanks!!! Your back in the loop.
Just for the record I was getting upset too about checking every few days to find nothing new... Thanks for the new posts
