Cambel's school put on a small play as part of their "Success Period"--which I think is a government mandated program that focuses primarily on reading--but getting authentic details out of Cambel is challenging. He can tell you all about Jasper's unfortunate illness--in his words: "We are singing our motion song, having a good time, Jasper throws up all over the floor," and Destiny's ill-timed diarrhea, which was the "not so cool news" of the day. But he can't really tell me what they do during success period. In fact, they worked on this play for several weeks and I only knew about it because the teacher sent a note home inviting us to watch it.
Cambel was one of the 3 Little Pigs. Had we all not known this tale, we would have been fairly confused. All the kids were shy and nervous and the lines they spoke into the microphone came out like "mmmm" with a little inflection thrown in for good measure.
Of course we all beamed at the cuteness of it all, and I was confident Cambel was the sweetest smartest pig I had ever seen (even if he did build his house out of straw because he wanted to play).
