Embassy Date

The steps in our adoption process are slowly being checked off. Another huge one was receiving our 797c--our approval from Homeland Security to bring our son into the United States. From there, our dossier was sent on and we received an embassy date for December the 12th. That means anytime after that date, we could hear that we have his visa, which means he can travel home. The usual wait time after the embassy date is 3 weeks, but it could be much longer. Elections are November 28th with the results being announced on the 6th of December and we are unsure of if or how this will affect our process. (The last elections in 2006 sparked violent protests). 

So slowly but surely we are getting there. His crib is put up, his clothes are in his dresser, and we are anxious to have him here with us.
