Three emails and 14 attachments.
14 pages of documents all in French.
But I didn't need to read French fluently to know that I was looking at our last name with our baby boy's first name.
It's official. He's a Brown!
A continent and several time zones away there is a precious baby boy who has become our 3rd child.
Our legal process in country is officially complete, and in the eyes of the government there, he is our son.
The estimated length of time for this part of the process is 3-4 months. Some families have waited as long as 5-6 months.
We waited for 5 weeks.
We can't totally explain why our wait time was so short, but we are praising God. He is bringing our son home!
Next up: More paperwork. More waiting. It turns out being the legal parents of a child in another country does not give you permission to fly over and bring him home. You need a lot of notarized papers and permission from important people.
So we fill out more papers, and we settle in (although impatiently) for more waiting.
Except that now we are waiting for a sweet little boy with our last name.
