Swim Lessons

We enrolled Cambel and Ada in swim lessons at the AU pool this winter. Ada is in the parent swim class, and she spends most of the time almost completely motionless and looking fairly bored (as evidenced by this picture).
Cambel on the other hand loves it and we have been impressed with the power of peer pressure as a teacher (there is no way Cambel would have jumped off the diving board unless he had followed his swim buddy up the ladder and watched him jump first. You could almost see him willing himself to copy the bravery of his fellow diver).
Disclaimer: these pictures are grainy, dark, and definitely not frameworthy, but they are all I have.

Following this lesson Cambel attended a birthday party for a boy in his preschool class. When he received the invitation he told me that "this is what he had been dreaming about." (Interesting side note, Cambel didn't actually know who Michael, the birthday boy, was. I guess a party is great in the eyes of a 4 year old no matter who it is for).
It was a Star Wars party and each child got some sort of costume to wear. Kevin arrived to pick Cambel up just in time to hear him screaming and crying. Apparently the paraphernalia was hard to remove and left Cambel unable to get to the bathroom in time. He appeared to be just momentarily phased by this embarrassing incident however...responding to Kevin about how things were going he said "Well, pretty good until this happened."
So our firstborn seems to be adjusting to life here just fine, wet pants and all.
