Cambel learned a song about Jonah at church and I found him in his room practicing it. He sang it about 50 times (and I am hardly exaggerating) for the camera because he kept making mistakes. This video is pretty long, but it is just a fraction of the time he spent trying to get it just perfect. (He never actually did, and in typical Cambel fashion, the singing session ended in bawling...aaah, the best of my obsessive, perfectionistic, and intense qualities shining through in my son. How touching).
*I taped this with our digital camera, and in my compromised mental state, I forgot that you can't rotate a video...so you will need to either turn your computer on its side or watch this while lying down.
So here it is, Cambel singing "Where is Jonah?"

Very cute Cambel, Wesley enjoyed watching it and says that you did a good job. :)
Okay, and now my joy for allowing Wesley to watch the video with me is that he is now singing the song over and over. (Or his attempt at the song since he can't remember all of the words since he just watched the video one time.) Ah, the good times! :)
How great is that?! Love the attention to enunciation and Haley was totally impressed by his use of a "hymnal": "He can read?!!!" :)
And don't worry, we're all going crazy. You should have heard my kids scream yesterday morning when I forced baths on them to break up the morning and speed the bedtime routine later on...not that I'm eager or anything. :)
Amy
it does look like he is reading, but the paper has the written words and the pictures on it...he is just using the pictures as prompts, which i guess didn't help as much as he wanted.:)
Oh well, he fooled Haley! :) After watching it, she spent the next hour "reading" a book to Jesse (fairly accurately actually but unfortunately it's because she has it memorized after making us read it to her multiple times daily.)
WOW...he sounds just like his dad singing Richard Marx:) I also love the shirt!
