The run-up to Christmas

After Thanksgiving the time goes so fast before Christmas. It always feels like we are packing in so many things--which is good because life is full.
Our December looked like....

A Gingerbread house party at preschool

Ada's school Christmas program (one funny detail...her tights ripped on the way there, so we had to hike them up really high to try to hide the hole around her knee--visible in part due to the fact that her dress we technically too small. She spent a significant chunk of time during the program trying to fix her tights, which is better than last year when she pulled her dress up to itch because her dress was "so scratchy").

Going to the craft fair with Ada (this is one of my favorite traditions with her--if you can call something a tradition when you have only done it 3 times)

A letter to Santa written for a school assignment, in which Ada admits that although she would like to be able to say that she deserves a visit from him because she has been good to her family, "that might not be true."

Ice skating with Cambel and Ada in downtown Lexington (I LOVED this and was so happy we got to do it. I want this to be a new tradition for all of us.)

Ada got to go to lunch and a play with her Nana and Papa (the boys got to go shopping at the Nike outlet and Kevin and I abandoned them all to stay at our favorite B&B)

A Louisville game with all the boys.

A quick visit to our Noblesville neighbor Gwen. (Yes, she is in her 90's and her hair is still not as gray as mine). We were so happy we stopped to see her and she was so surprised. We love Gwen.

Our annual "We are thankful" dinner where we do our handprints and what we are thankful for.

It was a good, full month.
