Humphrey the Hamster

For such a long time Ada has been wanting a hamster. She saved money and researched and talked and talked and talked about getting one. I kept putting her off, but she got a free cage. I  told her that she would have to wait until after Christmas and then she could buy her hamster. From my perspective, that time came far too quickly, but  then I'm not partial to rodents. Ada on the other hand, could not have been happier. She made a "welcome home sign" and COULD NOT WAIT to bring Humprhey home (I cannot even believe my I share my home with a rodent named Humphrey).

Humphrey has settled in nicely for hamster, and Ada just loves him to death (literally, almost to death). So far he hasn't escaped from his cage, but today we did have a small moment of panic as Humphrey was  lost in Ada's room. Thankfully he was just under a pillow.
Humphrey loves his wheel, helping with homework, and hanging out. For my part, I am just praying fervently that he stays in his cage.
