So Ada played soccer this Spring. The fear is that she inherited her coordination skills from me, which is to say that she inherited no coordination skills. She would prefer to spend her time imagining, and creating, and dreaming, and playing with her best friend Gabby, but I would like her to at least try sports and she dutifully-- and even with some excitement--complied. It would be a stretch to say that she enjoyed soccer (although she did love the snacks and the socializing), or that our fears about coordination were alleviated, but she did it and we have the team picture to prove it. Our favorite memory of the season (besides when she was picking her nose while on the field) is when during one play she was telling an animated story to her teammate Conner midfield. The coach yelled "Conner, run!! Ada! What are you even talking about?" Classic Ada.
This soccer team picture will most likely be a one time event for Ada, but don't say we didn't try.
