The last post I made was in April and we are halfway through July. I have a lot of catching up to do...I made a list of all the things to write about that have happened in the last 3 months and it is long! I guess that speaks to how full our life is, and I am grateful for that (even if sometimes it means we are crazy busy).
So backing up to the beginning of May..
Cambel turned 10. (should I just leave a blank space here for all the words I say every year on how I just can't believe how old he is?)
This year he chose to repeat what he did last year for his birthday and he and his dad headed to Kings Island--just the two of them. He even got to leave school early (he may have been just as excited about this as he was about Kings Island). They reportedly had a great time and rode all the scary rides.
To celebrate at home we just had a simple cake--and I realized after looking at this picture that I am pretty sure this is almost an exact replica of last year's birthday pic (maybe even down to the laundry in the background). Is this my subconscious way of trying to keep him from growing up?
As much as I would like to stop time for awhile, I do love watching Cambel grow up. We are biased of course, but we think he is such a great kid.
I also brought in cupcakes to his class with Oliver. We got there right before recess and Cambel asked if Oliver could stay and play at recess with him. It was so sweet to watch Cambel include Oliver in the soccer game with his friends and Oliver was SO THRILLED to be included. I think this speaks to what we find so endearing in Cambel and why he is so easy to celebrate.
Happy Birthday Cambel! We love you!
