Shakertown

Yesterday we explored the trails at Shakertown. It is a gorgeous area and on most of our walk you could hear the river and all kinds of birds. I would like to pretend that these pictures give an accurate representation of our family time there. But I cannot lie, even to the blog. Ada had a cold and didn't feel well so she spent considerable time whining about walking and asking to be carried (later her reflection on our time was "I hate walks"). I thought Oliver would love to walk and burn off some energy but he insisted --through much whining--on being in the carrier. And even though I tried to turn our conversation to the beauty of God's creation around us and the sounds of nature, we ended up discussing what everyone wanted for Christmas. Just keeping things real.
