Cambel started school one day earlier than Ada (Ada's school is just Kindergarten and preschool). He was feeling nervous about a new school and anxious to get started. Almost one week in now and he has made some friends and decided that school is boring. Sounds like a successful start to second grade.

Thankfully, we always have it in us to look slightly odd--and no, Oliver did not turn a full cartwheel after I shot this.
He actually missed the bus on the first day, so Kevin got to snap an in-class picture.

I knew he was nervous, but it was interesting to have a little peak into his emotions about the day.
The first "joint" school day. Ada's eye is not swollen, and as far as i know she was not intending to wink...first day jitters maybe? Or just a typical picture for us.
