Welcome Back Pneumonia

I thought mainly elderly people got pneumonia. Apparently, it is actually elderly people and my children (namely Ada--who had it last winter, and Oliver) who are most susceptible. After what seemed like a mild cold, Oliver woke up last Tuesday with a tight cough. I normally don't worry too much about coughs, but I didn't like the sound of this one. So off we went to the doctor, where we were given an antibiotic for an ear infection. As the day went on, Oliver sounded wheezier and by dinnertime, he had a panicked look in his eye and his stomach was retracting when he was breathing. To avoid the ER in the middle of the night, we took him into the crowded Medcheck and after a few hours, a doctor's exam, an x-ray, a shot of antibiotics, and a breathing treatment, we were home with a nebulizer and a diagnosis of pneumonia. Thankfully we seem to have caught it early and after a couple of days, oral antibiotics, and several breathing treatments, Oliver is doing much better.

Hopefully this is the last we will see of pneumonia until I am 80 or so.
