The Freezing Field Trip

We bundled up today for Ada's first field trip. Off we went to a working farm with all kinds of fun outside activities and a pumpkin patch. Unfortunately it was freezing and windy. I tried to forget how cold I was and enjoy the morning with Ada. Sometimes that worked.
We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin.

Ada insisted on hiking out to the far edges of the field to find the perfect pumpkin. I think she was the only kid that came home with a green one.

She milked a cardboard cow. Meanwhile, the cold was seeping into my bones and I was praying for the trip to be over., which is why I have no pictures of Ada petting all the real animals. My fingers were too frozen.

Farm chores are so much more fun than chores at home.

She, in typical Ada fashion, declared it the best day ever. I enjoyed seeing her have fun, and I eventually warmed up...I think about an hour after I got home I was finally warm enough to take my coat off.
