We decided this year for Kevin's Fall break to do what we did last year--visit Emily and Adriel and their girls in St. Louis. It was so good to see them and spend quality time together. We miss them!
It is also nice to be around another family with small children and low expectations for follow through on plans, eating habits, general levels of compliance, and order.
We wish we could have stayed longer, but we made the most of our time together. On Saturday we took the kids on the Metro to Union Station. They thought riding on a train was so cool...even when we took the wrong train and had to backtrack and switch cars, Cambel thought it was so awesome to get to ride 4 trains in one day.

Ada and Eli got along a lot better this time around. They even spontaneously said they loved each other. Eliana is so sweet--my kids love her (even when Ada doesn't). |
 |
For some reason I love this picture--I think because of the relationship Cambel and Ada are developing and the strange senses of humor wee see in them (where would they get that?) |
 |
The scale of emotion here from Cambel--who looks like he is on uppers, to Oliver--who looks like he can't stand another minute of this nonsense, is rather extreme. Welcome to our family. |

Oliver still doesn't look thrilled, but we'll pretend he is just trying to figure out if we are taking the right train (and that would be no, we aren't, which explains his concern). |
