We had plans for a small party yesterday with Grandma and Grandpa to celebrate Oliver's first birthday (which, coincidentally is the same day as the Congolese Independence Day), but Ada came down with the flu. We scrapped the decorations and the company, but I couldn't let the big day pass without singing and lighting a candle for our birthday boy.
