Take me out to the ballgame (or just play soccer instead)

This year we gave Cambel the option of either playing baseball or soccer. Much to my dismay, he chose baseball. Don't get me wrong, it was fun to see him try something new and I love seeing him get excited about something and enjoying himself. But I have to be honest that the amount of time baseball takes really makes me long for soccer, which never required practice and allowed all the kids to run around simultaneously for a shorter period of time. Baseball means practice and LONG, hot innings during which I try unsuccessfully to convince Oliver that sitting in the hot sun waiting for the game to end is FUN.
At any rate, Cambel's enthusiasm was endearing and it was a good experience for him. He was a fairly consistent hitter and finally scored a run in his last game of the season. (Of course I cheered, but some of my joy was also because it was the last game of the season).
He looks so big. Whether or not I love baseball, I have to admit Cambel makes a cute player.

He looks so much like the pictures of his dad and papa playing when they were younger.
