On one of our days in St. Simon's we took the kids to a nature center where we observed all sorts of aquatic wildlife as well as some reptiles that Cambel said were "creeping him out."  (In his defense, something about the setup of the exhibit gave me a strange sense of being watched by and a bit too close to these animals). 

From there, we thought we would explore a path we found. The scenery was beautiful--we love the trees and the hanging moss. I got a couple of pictures, we walked about 200 yards, and then were were discovered by a ravenous swarm of mosquitos. We had to abort the walk (and practically run back to the van) to avoid being eaten alive and decided to get something to eat and swim instead.
