Since it is now November, Halloween is past, and our jack-o-lantern has been pillaged by squirrels, I thought it was about time to get pictures up from our night of trick-or-treating.
Each year the idea of dressing the kids up in something cute (and more importantly cheap) nearly overwhelms me. The thought of having to make the costume myself is enough to leave me cowering in fear.
Earlier this Fall I attended a consignment sale and HALLELUJAH they had a rack just for costumes. After I quick perusal I grabbed a knight costume (the only thing in Cambel's size) and a ladybug costume for Ada. The more obvious choice would have been a princess costume of course, but there were no princess costumes. As luck would have it, Ada was thrilled to be a ladybug (complete with "wings to fly up the sky") and Cambel thought it was a riot that he was the brave knight protecting the ladybug.
Further evidence that luck was on my side came in the form of 4 little princess and 1 other ladybug friends that joined us for trick-or-treating. So Cambel got to save his princess after all and Ada enjoyed flitting about with a fellow ladybug.
Another Halloween saved.
("He would have seen the danger ahead had it not been for the helmet in his eyes.")
Don't mess with a knight and his plastic sword.
Could a ladybug feel any safer than this?
