It was an askident

Ada has a history of coloring on surfaces that are not paper (like my walls) and then blaming it on someone else (like Cambel or even Daddy). It has been awhile since any red or blue or purple scribbles have appeared on my painted surfaces and I was feeling confident that our disciplinary interventions had effectively extinguished Ada's artistic delinquency.
Unfortunately last week Kevin found her small table in her room covered with a rainbow of crayon marks. When he confronted Ada about the source of the coloring, she must have felt cornered (and obviously couldn't blame it on her dad). So her reply was
"It was a askident."
To which Kevin responded
"Oh, you accidentally colored all over your table?"
Then she sweetly answered
"Yes, I sorry Daddy."
Needless to say, the cuteness factor nearly overwhelmed Kevin's ability to enforce any kind of punishment.
At least if she hasn't learned to keep her crayons on her paper, she has learned that she can't lie. No need to tell a fib when you can just be sweet and cute and call it an askident.

How cute! Have you guys tried Magic Erasers? We have lots of "askidents" too, and they work wonders! (:
