They were able to be here for Cambel's first soccer game. The soccer league is put on by a local school and some dear souls who are willing to give up a few hours of their time each week to do something akin to herding cats while balls are being kicked in random directions. Cambel's group was a bit older, so the balls were more purposeful in their direction and for the most part the teams remembered which goal was theirs. Apparently Cambel's soccer camp this summer paid off because he scored 2 goals (or "scores" as he calls them) and he actually did a good job of kicking and moving the ball (of course, all I really know about soccer was told to me by a 5 year old, so my observations may be foggy).
One thing that is not unclear is Cambel's enthusiasm for uniforms and games. He bounced around, maintained his penchant for dramatic falls, performed some great pseudo-dance moves in between plays, and gave us several thumbs-up after his "scores."
It was a great show and we were happy to be watching Cambel enjoying life. We are continually reminded of how full and blessed our life is with Cambel and Ada (and how happy we are that we did not volunteer to coach).
