This morning while I was starting the day, this is the conversation I overheard Cambel and Ada having while they were both sitting in our bed.
Cambel: Ada, what kind of birthday party do you want? A dog party? (Not sure why he suggested this, since he is has a mortal fear of dogs and Ada hasn't displayed an overt affinity for canines herself)
Ada: A dog party! (How did Cambel know she wanted a dog party?)
Cambel: What kind of cake do you want Ada?
Ada: anana
Cambel: You want a banana cake? (Touching Ada's face as if to comfort her) Ada, your party might not be just the way you want it.
(then to me) Mommy! I need you to make this into a list. Ada wants a dog party with a banana cake.
(back to Ada) I think we are going to get this to work out Ada.
Just for the record, I have no plans of hosting a dog party or making a banana cake for Ada's birthday, but I do think we will manage to pull of a pretty good celebration. Hopefully Cambel will agree.

It's so fun to overhear those conversations. Have fun planning for dogs and banannas! I'll be anxiously awaiting a report on the parties!
I actually happen to have a delicious recipe for banana cake with cream cheese icing...just in case you change your mind and bring this story full circle. :)
