After a good meal with my family we hit the road. Several hours later we changed the kids into their pajamas and told them it was time to sleep. Some time later Ada started to cry, which woke Cambel up. At least I thought he was awake. His eyes were open and he seemed to be looking at me, and under normal circumstances those are usually signs of an awake state. But after a few seconds he started to scream and frantically grab at his seat with his hands. He reached for my hand and yelled "you need to help me! slow this down! I can't do this! we are going too fast! help me stop!" Naturally, since it was the middle of the night and I had been dozing I reacted with nearly as much panic to match his own and started yelling "what, what is it?" After a few intense moments we concluded that he not really awake and was convinced that he was in charge of driving the car.
Apparently he did not feel up to the task.
It took awhile but we were finally able to convince him that he was in fact not the (backseat) driver. Actually I think he just had to "wake up" and then he dropped peacefully back to sleep, blissfully unaware of the chaos he had just caused.
We managed to arrive without further confusion about who was driving, and since then we have been having a great time with great friends. (Possible pictures to follow. Oh, the excitement)

Nate and I are laughing at this. I'm not sure who would have been more funny to watch - you or Cambel. Anyways, its nice to know that our children are capable of freaking out in their sleep also. That takes talent. :)
I would have to agree with Anne, not sure what would be more funny to watch!!!! Too cute Maria:)
Maria, I would love to narrate your life, although this post is proof that you are pretty adept at narrating it yourself. Thanks for the laugh. :)
