As a long time lover of Valentine's Day, I have somehow let this beloved holiday come and go without even signing my name to a card for my valentine (that would be Kevin). We went out to eat, I made heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast and cookies for Cambel's preschool class, but I didn't do anything to remind Kevin that I am so glad that he is my permanent valentine.
So Kevin, here it is, my late tribute to you and this wonderful day of red and pink, hearts, chocolate, and love.
Thank you for loving me unconditionally, for getting my jokes, for sharing inside jokes with me, for always supporting my decision to eat ice cream right before bed, for making it possible for me to stay at home with Cambel and Ada, for getting me a "thank you" card for Valentine's day, for calling me ria, for always blowing me a kiss before you leave, for making me laugh, for telling the same stories over and over again, for loving our children, for emailing me during the day, for being honest with me, for having deep conversations with me, for accepting my idiosyncrasies (and even celebrating them), for being funny and intuitive and thoughtful and deep and serious and sarcastic all at once, and for the hundreds of other things you say and do that make up our life together. Thank you for being my valentine, and for not even being mad when you got me such a nice card this year and I had nothing.
I love you.

Wow Maria,
You are such a great Mom, wife and so funny. I think you should write a book.
I wish Nancy hadn't closed her store and that you have moved. I would love to have gotten to know you better.
Listen to this story...
Dave finally brought the cabinet in to your house. It is actually going to the cottage. But I had to laugh, when he brought it in I was not home. HE set up in such a nice place to rest until spring... Only thing it was upside down....
Love your blog,
Sally
