Its that time of year again...when we all gather in costumes to celebrate a holiday that allows your neighbors to hang out skeletons and put bloody hands and tombstones in their yards, all so that we can come home with a bucket full of candy. (Of course if its chocolate candy, I'll do just about anything).
Last year I was saved by a friend who handcrafted cute costumes and let me borrow them for Cambel and Ada. This year I was left to my own devices. Obviously I just put it off until the last minute. And I would have had a whole other week to procrastinate, except that we went to Louisville and Nana and Papa's church was having a "trunk or treat." Costumes were required and I used all my creative powers to come up with this:

Spiderman with green Pumas and an elephant carrying an Easter bucket.

The elephant costume is an almost too small hand-me-down from my sister Anne (who actually plans her children's Halloween costumes and has quite a bit of creativity). The Easter basket is Nana's. I think it adds to the whole authenticity of the costume.

And we have had this sitting around for a year or so. Cambel refused to wear the mask because it was very restrictive. I think the green pumas really complete the look.

Thankfully my kids managed to look cute despite my failures.

And really, don't you think Spiderman would be proud to collect candy with an elephant holding an Easter basket? I think so.

Very Cute!
I am cracking up Maria, because this is just how we do it! I don't plan the costumes, they just happen. and I wouldn't be surprised if one of my kids ends up carrying an easter basket instead of a pumpkin bucket! :)
