Obviously

When you are awakened at 3:30 am to a strange insistent beeping, it is obviously the smoke detector warning you that it is out of batteries.

(never mind that you have scores of others around the house that are functioning just fine, obviously this one needs changed immediately or you might not hear the others going off in the event that your house is on fire)

Obviously you don't have any replacement batteries.

Obviously it doesn't matter anyway because it is the one attached to the cathedral ceiling in your living room.

Obviously it will go on beeping for an indefinite period of time because it is connected to a greater power source (which obviously is not enough power to alert you in the event of a fire, when obviously every other smoke detector would also be going off).

Obviously you will get to hear this incessant beeping for the rest of the night.

Obviously.

Now I see why you were checking blogs at 3am. I'm so sorry. I'll pray for a nap for you today and for a quiet peaceful day around the house.

HUGE BUMMER! Makes me a little less irritated by the screaming baby that refuses to nap this afternoon. So thanks for that. :)
