The Dentist

Cambel took his first trip to the dentist today. With the hibachi grill incident fresh in our minds, we spent considerable time and energy preparing him for his visit. And he came through with flying colors…as well as a considerable amount of loot—new toothbrush, special floss, lots of stickers, and sunglasses (which he wore during his cleaning so the bright light wouldn’t bother his eyes). Throughout the cleaning, he kept announcing “this doesn’t hurt at all!”
It was a good thing he did so well, because while we were waiting I got a hold of a recent People magazine. I spent the majority of his cleaning engrossed in the latest celebrity gossip. I am sure the hygienist was very impressed with my attentive mothering skills, as I threw out an occasional “you’re doing great” over the pages of my magazine while barely even looking up.
In the end it was a win for us all. Cambel was proud of himself and excited about his new dental gear, and me, well I can now rest that Melissa from the latest season of “The Bachelor” is not still reeling from her public breakup from the emotionally unstable, serial dater, “I can’t believe I am in love again” Jason. She has recovered enough to find a new relationship with a man known only as Ty (no last name for privacy reasons—really? You think now is a good time to start guarding your personal life?), and has rebounded back into the reality TV show world with her debut on “Dancing With The Stars” (watch her while you can, because this will be her last reality show she assures us. And don’t expect too much from her ballroom dance, as her cheerleading skills have not prepared her at all for this kind of movement). Oh-and Brittany Spears is weirder than ever, but is managing to make her bizarreness into a live show that people are paying to watch. I’ll just read about it in the magazine, thank you
