King of the mountain!
Today Cambel and I went sledding (poor Daddy had to work). We went to the big hill behind our church--actually where I used to sled when I was growing up (really, how did so much time go by that now I am taking my little boy sledding at the same place where I once played when I was no bigger then he is? And how could I have known then, when my world was so small, that some day I would bring back a little boy named Cambel and watch him live the wonder of being a child-- when the hill looks like a mountain and the speed of the sled feels like the fastest you have ever gone, and the snow tastes better than any water from the tap, and the cold in your toes is all a part of the fun, and you can't believe that you can use the shape of your body and the flapping of your arms and legs to create beautiful snow angels.)
Cambel loved it, and I had to convince him to leave because I was freezing and tired from all those climbs back up the hill. It was a special time for us together.
The big hill (covered in ice...very slick!)
This look is saying "okay, can we please be done with pictures?"
Pure joy!
That crazy hat kept falling over his eyes
