Piano recitals, running clubs, ice skating, and selfies

Cambel and Ada have been taking piano lessons for long enough for us to know they aren't musical prodigies, but I think it's good for kids to learn to play an instrument. So piano lessons it is, in spite of all the feelings to the contrary from the aforementioned children.
Their first recital was right before Christmas. Ada's favorite part was dressing up.

While Cambel ran Cross Country, Ada was in a "Girls on the Run" club that culminated in a 5k. Each girl had to have an adult running partner, and after some indecisiveness and fears over disappointing one parent, she chose her Dad (which personally I was fine with because it was freezing...and because Ada loves her Dad and I love that).

The after race snacks were the best
He's a good Dad to not only run, but wrap Ada's discarded pink sweatshirt around his shoulders.

Some selfies thrown in for good measure...

We kept up our new tradition of ice skating in downtown Lexington. This year Oliver got to join in and he was actually amazing for his first time. Unfortunately, he couldn't skate as long as he wanted to because his skates cut into his ankle and made him bleed. Next year, thicker longer socks.
