After 27 years in the pastorate and 14 years as the president of WGM, Dad is retiring.
The whole family came to Indiana for the retirement party. Mom and Dad graciously offered to take us out to dinner so that poor Nate and Anne didn't have to feed all of us while also getting ready for their trip to Albania. After dinner Emily and Anne and I had some time to just hang out a new coffee shop in town (who knew Ligonier would one day boast not one, but two coffee shops?). Mom and Dad slept at their house, but the rest of us crammed ourselves into Nate and Anne's house. That's 9 kids, 6 adults, and 2 puppies all in one home. Mildly chaotic, but so fun and good to be with family. On Sunday morning we went to church and it was good to be "home" and see people we know so well and who know us so well. After church we drove to Marion where Dad and Mom were honored for their service to WGM. I am so proud of my parents.
(weird faces became a theme for Adriel, Isaiah, and Micah)
(after Isaiah's really scary concussion #3 we were so happy to see him playing again--safely of course)
(These women, my mom's dear friends, are a part of so many of my childhood memories)
