This Halloween might mark the most work I have ever put into a costume(s). The kids' school designated the day before Halloween as Career day, which meant we had to find 2 costumes for Ada, (since Little Red Riding Hood isn't a career). Ada decided to be an Interior Designer, which required a cute outfit, some paint swatches and some renderings and blue prints donated by my high school friend who is a real Interior Designer. After (all) that work to make her into an Interior Designer she went to school and forgot what she was. Oh well.
The real work came when I had to make her a cape for her Little Red Riding Hood costume. Seriously, I actually cut a cape out of fabric. I totally deserved every bit of chocolate I stole from the kids bags.
Thankfully Cambel went as a soccer player for both days. For awhile we tried to convince him to be the Big Bad Wolf for Halloween, but really who was I kidding? There is no way I was going to make that costume happen and so I was secretly relieved when he just put on his soccer uniform.
Oliver went as Spiderman (a hand me down from Cambel, so that required nothing on my part).
Oliver has worn this costume to the library and to preschool and to a friend's house. He really really loves it.
Our forgetful interior designer
Maybe I can encourage him to be a soccer player every year
And here it is...the pinnacle of my Halloween achievements. Little Red Riding Hood.
