How Fluffy the Zhu Zhu Pet Came To Replace Chester the Dog

I tried. I really did. I even started to like Chester. But Chester had some issues that were only going to be resolved with time and training (i.e. an incompetent bladder, an unfortunate rock eating habit, a habit of chewing my shoes and pictures on the fridge and curtains and rugs, and an increasing desire to...ummm...well, hump the kids). Besides all of his puppy faults he was cute and sweet and a generally good dog, but I just couldn't do it anymore. I found myself yelling the same things to Chester and Oliver: leave it! sit! drop it! stay! come here! that is not for you!

It was not what I envisioned when we were thinking of getting a dog.

So I did what any mean mother would do. I sold him. In my defense, everyone but Ada was in agreement that he needed a new home, and I found a great one for him. He now lives with a couple and another dog named Hank and he has lots of room to run and play on their farm property while still being an inside dog. It was a win for all of us. Except poor Ada who was so sad. It about broke my heart.

So I did what any guilty mother would do. I convinced her that a Zhu Zhu pet would make a fabulous replacement for a live puppy.

And she bought it.

Fluffy arrived today and I have to say I no longer feel guilty. Fluffy moves and makes noise and allows Ada to dress and decorate her. And she does not need house trained and so far seems uninterested in rocks or any of our shoes. Ada is beyond thrilled.

And all is well again in the Brown household.

Thank you Fluffy for saving the day and welcome to the family. I promise not to sell you.
