Fulfilling my duties as mother of the year

We dyed Easter eggs again this year. It played out much like last year.

Something like this....

Oh dear, it is almost Easter and we still have pinecone decorations sitting around.

And we haven't dyed any eggs! (How will I ever continue being mother of the year without egg-dyeing?)

Kids-get your paint shirts on! It is time to dye eggs. (Much joy and excitement and a general feeling of well being)

Two minutes later...

Chaos, pandemonium, cracked eggs, tears.

Approximately 30 minutes, more excitement, some pleading to NOT SPILL THE DYE and some extra boiled eggs later, we have some eggs of varying colors with stickers and crayon scratchings and even some fancy coverings that shrink to fit when heated (that's real mother of the year stuff).

And here's the picture to prove it.

(Oliver is not included because in 10 seconds he managed to break an egg and there was no way I was letting him get near the dye. He was forced to hang out in the sling instead)

This is Cambel giving Ada a lecture on why she needs to share the stickers. He was pretty upset and Ada was completely unphased by his pleading. And this after our family devotional on serving like Christ...looks like I need to work on my mother of the year lectures.
