This summer, Cambel went stayed with Anne and her family for a week and attended their church's VBS. While he was there he met Cy, and he and Cy became fast friends.
A few weeks later, Cambel and Cy saw each other at a church event and they were so excited to be reunited. I overheard Cy say "I thought I would never see you again!" (so cute)
The problem with this friendship is that Cy and his family are missionaries in Bolivia, which happens to be a bit of a drive from Anderson. Fortunately, Cy's mom and I are friends and we were able to work out our families getting together and Cy spending the night with us before they headed back to their home and ministry in Bolivia.
Cambel was beside himself with excitement for the big sleepover and it did not disappoint. These boys are two peas in a pod. They played soccer, giggled, wrestled, played Beyblades, broke out some crazy dance moves, ate ice cream, and talked long after I went to sleep.
When Cy left the next day Cambel cried and said "I feel like I am staying somewhere else and I am homesick." (so sweet...and how is that for verbal expression of emotions? Mothers interested in having your daughter marry a male so in touch with his emotions: I will be taking applications).
They may be separated by continents now, but I think these boys are bound to be good friends for life.
