Cambel's 7th birthday gift was a family trip to Indiana Beach. Throwing caution to the wind, we packed up all 3 kids, some food, sunscreen, a stroller, and a little courage and optimism and headed to Monticello to prove for ourselves that there really is more than corn in Indiana (and that taking small children to an amusement park on a very hot day was not, in fact, a terrible decision).

Oliver seemed to enjoy the day and looked superbly cute hanging out in the stroller. |
Ada was too short to ride any big rides, but she has the makings of a little daredevil. She grinned through most of the rides she rode. |
Cambel, not naturally a daredevil, dove right in and rode the biggest ride (Hoosier Hurricane) first. He spent a good deal of time telling Ada just how scary it was (as pictured below). Kevin, who rode it with him, said he was saying "What have I done?" and "I shouldn't be on this", but he was brave enough to get on other rides afterwards even if he was scared to death. |
This was about the extent of the excitement for Oliver. |
A short nap in the stroller--shortened by all the roaring rides and screaming.
We ended the day hot and tired, but we did have a lot of fun (and we haven't even contracted any vile disease from all those disgusting handrails). |
