I am not entirely sure where it all started (although I have my suspicions that it has something to do with Kevin and Bear Grylls), but Cambel has become a bit obsessed with tents and forts. He built an elaborate fort in the living room, but when I suggested that it would be nice to not have to jump over the couch to get to the desk, he tore it down. The next thing I knew, he and Kevin were up in his room and after a considerable amount of time, several bungee cords, and a little duct tape, this is what I discovered in Cambel's room:
Yes, those are afghans suspended by cords that are connected to the curtain rod and the ceiling fan...and also the highchair, although I have no idea how that fits in.Thankfully Nana had a play tent that she graciously sent home with us and we can now walk across Cambel's room without ducking, crawling, tripping or clotheslining ourselves.
With the construction of the fort and then the tent, Cambel has abandoned sleeping in his bed and insists on sleeping in the tent instead. (Did I mention that he and Kevin got out the blow up mattress, which of course is too big for the tent, so they had to hang a sheet from the ceiling to make the tent larger?)
The upside of all this, besides the obvious pleasure Cambel takes in absolutely destroying any sense of my decor dreams, is that I haven't had to change the sheets on his bed for awhile. I guess there is a silver lining to every sheet hanging from your ceiling.
