The Circle of Life

I mopped my kitchen floor today, which I haven't done in quite awhile. When I came home after running an errand this afternoon there were already crumbs all over it. I leaned over to pick them up and said "I don't know why I ever mop."
Except I could have sworn it was my mom saying it. It was, after all, what I heard her say so many times as a kid when we completely disregarded her clean floor in favor of all the things that consume adolescents, and it did sound an awful lot like her voice.
It couldn't have been me right? I mean that was one of those things I was never going to say because who cares about the floor anyway?
Well Mom, this one is for you. I totally get why you cared about the floor and how irritating it must have been to see the crumbs of the afternoon snack mar your spotless linoleum.
That darn circle of life...
