The Immortal Ladybug

Somewhere inside this jar is a little ladybug that has survived against all odds.
Recently Cambel's preschool class learned all about bugs. Cambel came home with an abundant amount of information about ladybugs in particular. (For example, I had no idea that they all have 7 spots. Unfortunately this wealth of knowledge does nothing to help him get dressed in the morning without repetitive interventions from me).
On Friday Cambel caught this unsuspecting ladybug and a friend of ours helped him put it in a plastic baggie. I am not sure why they thought that was a good idea, but I was too distracted and disinterested to do something about it. Plus I figured the lack of oxygen and food source would kill it pretty quickly and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
However, against all odds, that crazy thing lived in that bag for 2 days before I took pity on its buggy soul and cleared my conscience of its slow and painful death by transferring it to a jar with holes punched in the lid.
The bug lived long enough to be shown at preschool and then we released it outside, where I am sure it is now suffering from some kind of brain damage...either that or Cambel can add "can survive long periods without oxygen" to his list of information about ladybugs. This of course will do nothing to help him get ready in the morning.
