Smokin' Hot Date

This past weekend we drove to Louisville to visit Kevin's parents. It was great to see them, and to be with Kevin,
and to let Nana and Papa take over so that I could sit and read a book.
Aaah, the little things...

Nana and Papa also made not one, but two date nights possible for us. After helping with baths, Kevin and I took off in the minivan, which smelled slightly of soured milk and stale crackers and was littered with toys and DVD's, to get hot drinks, take a walk on the riverfront, watch a dollar movie (that somehow ended up costing $8) and--to really crank up the heat and romance-- split a chocolate milkshake from Steak 'N Shake. We just like to keep things spicy like that.
(Really you could have told me we had to watch endless episodes of "Barney And Friends" together and I would have been happy just to be together).

Unfortunately I didn't take pictures and then I forgot my camera there, so today I can't even prove that Ada looks as bad as a temperature of 102 makes you feel, and that Cambel really has drug out nearly every pillow in the house and piled them in front of the couch to make a soft landing for his awesome jumps.
Aaah, it is good to be back at home alone with the kids.

Lest I leave you on a discouraging note, let me offer you this gem of a picture I have been hanging onto since our vacation to North Carolina:

(speaking of hot dates...)
