A visit from friends

We had a visit from some special friends on Sunday. I met Mac in Noblesville when I worked as a rehabilitation technician. I was blessed to be able to work with him and help him with daily tasks. Mac has a rare disease that causes seizures and has left him unable to have much control over his muscles. It is a sad condition, and most people would probably feel sorry for themselves. But not Mac. With the help of his family he is living a full life. Currently he is finishing a college degree. He and his parents, Don and Carolyn, drove their RV up to Shipshewana for a mini vacation and parked one night at our house for a visit. Cambel was very intrigued with the idea of a house on wheels and he enjoyed spending time with our friends. Carolyn fed him waffles and sausage in the camper and Don taught him a matching game with cards, watched him ride his bike, took him on a walk, and even encouraged a couple of pillow fights with Mac. Ada we are finding is quite resistant to other people holding her, but she seemed to like Don, and she also was "talking" and smiling at Mac this morning. We were so glad to see them and happy they could meet our children.
